To which post do you refer to? The first is indeed advanced, the other should be fairly simple.

Damage sacrificed would for example be having a 70% hitrate with 5000 max dmg, compared to having a 100% hitrate with 3600 as max damage. However (Though this will possibly never happen), if you have a 50% chance of dealing an average damage of 7000 damage, this would be better in the long run as long you deal less than 3500 on average with 100% hitrate chance.
