I would guess that Elite Puppet can absorb ranged attacks (such as full screen attacks from bosses) without you taking damage, although I'd imagine this only happens when you and the puppet are in attack range. That's the impression I get from the skill description.
Insoya's not being much help, it seems this has caused their forums to overload.
The spirit link idea seems to be a nice way to make bm/mm summons more useful in 4th job?
If so, I wonder if the same idea can be applied to the other class summons because ifrit/elquines just seem lackluster after jump...
