we don't even know how to harness Fusion power, one of the most likely technologies to give us enough energy to travel through space, but even then, we're no where near lightspeed. even WITH lightspeed it still takes ridiculous amounts of time to reach even the nearest star system. we'd need to get something ridiculously high in energy, yet small enough and light enough to transport equipment and people.
It's good that we know where we intend to travel yo and that we know the possibilities. I only hope we can find that possibility within my lifetime :C
