I feel like the only reason it's being compared to WoW is because it's the biggest MMO, though.
WoW isn't terribly difficult, as it was designed to be much more appealing to casual players than Everquest, but it's not just getting "12 year olds to cooperate", either. The current heroic content hasn't been completely cleared by very many guilds. One of the harder fights:
SpoilerThis is a test of execution. Anyway, I'm not saying it's hard, I'm saying it's not a mindless free-for-all and the notion that enemies having attack patterns in B&S is something innovative is ridiculous.
Then let me ask you this, what other game relates to blade and soul? I don't care if you say WoW is better, it has its own merrit in its own atmosphere. It's too LOTR too me, (goblins ect), but these comparisons I keep hearing are just far off. B & S is a game that's soul design is to do everything any developer will tell you not to do. It's entire purpose is martial arts, not the stereotypical mages/warriors that most games copy from WoW. Throw in a slick rogue in their too.
I guess what makes me love the idea of blade and soul is the setting is so vibrant, it's gorgeous, like Aion. However it has that martial arts fluid feel in combat, so it's not all pretty colors, there's substance, there's story. I also love the idea of being able to run across water, to essentially fly through the air, and when you kill pomegranate, even if it's pointless "collect 10 of these", you have fun introducing yourself to new combo's and challenging yourself to remain untouched, which can be difficult because each monster has it's own unique frames/cool downs/retialiations, and each person/monster/action in game has different reaction frames depending on how, when it was hit.
This game took a lot of risks, but it's those risks that make it unique.
