Serious bomb on this (I'm Asian), but quite frankly I think these parents care more about the honor they're kid will bring instead of their love of them. In my opinion, parents shouldn't have any expectation of their kid to surpass themselves. My dad is pretty cool with this, but my mom goes wayyyy over the edge sometimes. They're not as bad as the Tiger mom but they're much more strict than the average American parent.
Anyways, hell, it might be a matter of perspective. That kid made it into Harvard. In the future, Sophia might actually thank her mom for giving her a great life.
It's a different story with the younger sister though, lolololol.
