The problem you're probably encountering with Vayne is that her skillset rewards her aggression. She gets bonus MS for chasing (4x with ult active), and her Tumble effective CD is 3-4 times as long if she fails to hit anything with the proc (aka running away).

A running vayne is a dead vayne... Unless you see the gank from miles away (See wards) and started running before hand.
