I especially love when they sell permanent pets for what would get you a 90 day pet and water of life for more than a year, and they still talk as if they made the best deal ever.
90 days would compel you to feel like you're wasting your pet if you want to take a break from Maple or play super casually (aka: not playing several hours every single day) due to a busier life. It's more of a long-term decision, and I can be happy knowing I never have to buy Waters ever again and it lets me keep my pet until the day Maple shuts down or I move on from Maple permanently. It's both a convenience thing, as well as an investment kind of thing. Besides, it's best for people who level several Adventurers (for what reason I don't know, but we all know there are people crazy enough about the game to level one character to 200 more than once).
