Let me translate that announcement:



Personally, I don't want a rollback, because I know whatever 2x compensation they give will never come close to making up for the training I've put in these past few days.

But, when Nexon try to surgically excise just the tainted meso and items from the game... it usually results in heavy casualties among the innocents, and the hackers laughing all the way to the (real life) bank.

If they really want to avoid a rollback, I think the following should be enough:

• Ban any character created this past week which has more than 100m meso. Let any legits who created a new character and funded it, log tickets.
  
• Delete any stacks of more than 200 chaos or pink scrolls. Ban any account with more than 2k of them on it.
  

Yes, the smarter hackers who converted their meso to items and stashed them in MTS, or who sold their meso to meso-selling sites for real-world money, will emerge unscathed. Such is life. But at least much of the excess meso, and nearly all of the excess items, will disappear from the market, and give us back some semblance of normalcy. Until the next exploit.
God, why must this game be run by such a bunch of incompetents?
