I like fast paced music. But I also like slow paced music with smooth transitions. I like simple melodies, but I also like the music that suddenly breaks with the time beat to make things a bit more exciting.
Heck, I just like music. As long as it ain't stupidly boring or something.
What I'm very picky about is the lyrics. I like my lyrics to not be stupidly cheesy or uncreative. Like the straight forward "I love you don't leave me" lyrics of most of the love themed music aired in the radio. I mean, crap, at least use some metaphors or something!
And it's a shame that there are so many nice music tracks out there that are only ruined by an uncreative lyric put on top of it. Wish every band out there would release a clean instrumental version of their tracks first. Midi files from fans are not enough most of the time. =\
Yeah, if I'm listening to songs I can understand, I prefer it if the lyrics weren't absolute garbage. If it's anything international, it doesn't really matter too much as long as the rhythm of the song flows smoothly, and there's great transitions.
