I plan on getting to the level where I can converse confidently in random Japanese conversations by the end of Summer. Doesn't particularly mean adult level Japanese just yet, but enough for an average 9 year old to handle. I'm probably overestimating my ability to retain information, but my new study methods as of late have been bearing fruit.
