Just a random thought after reading certain posts here...
There's no such thing as righteous killing or lesser of evils or whatever. That's just trying to justify and sugarcoat the truth.
Murder is murder, period. If you think murder is evil, then all murder is evil. There can be no exceptions.
Bottom line is, any group or individual does what it needs to be done in order to defend their world/way of life/ideals/etc. That's what happened here.
It's the burden of anyone or anything that takes a certain stance in life. Sometimes in order to defend your stance, murder might be necessary. Other times trampling over the "rights" of people, bending certain "rules" or lying might be necessary. And in what might be the act closest to the ideal existence of justice and goodness people fantasize about; people compromise for the sake of mutual benefit.
There's nothing good or righteous here. Unless you believe murder can bring about something good or righteous. Either way, an individual was killed for the sake of those who deemed his existence dangerous. In my eyes, that's all there is to it.
