[COLOR="green"]I agree. I usually ignore a lot of the pony threads, but it doesn't change what it is.
Any fanbase is of itself a way to interact with other people. You meet people and then get to better know each other and learn about the other people based on who they are, not based on their defining characteristics relating to the show. People often take things to a fanatical level and lose themselves in the thing, out of the fear that people won't be interested unless it's related to the source or the popular thing, which just shows the other people in the group a mask instead of a person.
This forum itself actually shows how normal things usually happen. We all came here for Maplestory for the most part, but at least 25% of the most active userbase doesn't even involve themselves in it even more. People like me stay on a forum because of the people here, not because every talk and discussion with the people I consider friends on this forum is about some single specific thing.[/COLOR]
