I don't really think Harper is destroying hospitals just that the budget increase for health is being decreased in favour of a system of private and public health care. I rather like this idea as the rich can quickly get medical services that they would otherwise get in the USA. Underpaid doctors/assistants/whatnot can make more money this way. On the flip side, patients in need of medical care may get it sooner since I'd assume with a private system, there would be a slight decrease in the number of those using public services. The reduction of the health budget increase is compensated by a private health system being introduced.

Private medicine is the bain of civilization. Everyone should be treated equally regardless of wealth. And who fucking cares if this will allow some dipshit taking appointments behind a desk to make more money? Doing this deprives the real healthcare workers in our hospitals from being able to function effectively. There have already been mass layoffs at most hospitals around the country and they're replacing skilled nurses with low leveled ones so they can cut costs. They've also begun stretching out shifts in order to cut costs because having two nurses work 12 hours is more cost effective than 3 nurses working 8 hours. Not only is this awful for people who need jobs but it's dangerous as pineapple for patients.

If some rich twats want to go get private health care in America than by all means, do it. Get the pineapple out of our country--a country founded on respect for all people, not just those with money.

I'm not sure what he's doing with schools but as far as I know he's cutting down student loan interest?

While cutting the number of teachers in schools, increasing classroom size and decreasing overall number of schools. Once again, great for the selfish but we're fucking future generations with pomegranate policy like this. SWELL

I don't think employment is as bad as some people may think, though ironically I'm struggling to find a second part time job =P. The Conservative low tax policy does help businesses cut costs and hopefully be more hire friendly.

The conservative low tax policy will also run this country into a deficit in the future. They'll need to raise taxes again eventually. Frankly, in Ontario, it shouldn't have ever dropped below 15%. I don't mind spending a ridiculous amount in taxes when I know we're all being taken care of it as a result. And harper isn't really any better in regards to taxes. During his reign he's dropped Ontario's taxes to 13% and then... oh right, he introduced HST, which taxes all of the things we've managed to keep tax free for so many years, effectively creating more taxes for many people than that extra 2% PST ever did. Sweet job, Conservative government. Way to cut taxes. So in regards to taxes, this government isn't any better than previous ones, they just lie about it and make people think they are helping them.

NDP definitely focuses on what the average Canadian wants, but at what cost?

??? That's exactly what we should be focused on. There is no cost involved in focusing on Canadians as a whole. The real cost comes when we start dividing treatment and giving those with money big pluses. Then we turn into a shithole like America.
