Is anyone else having a hard time with the dews on regular Adventurers?

When were they glitched, and in what way?

Took me 19 of them, long long ago, to get spikes on my (jump scrolled) warrior boots.

Took about 10 to get spikes on two more pairs of boots, just recently. (And yeah, hunting poison poopas for the soul lights was definitly the trigger for trying).
Scrolls work as advertised, don't use up a slot, mostly fail, sometimes succeed.
The spikes work as advertised, no slipping on ice.

yep, since i have been training on book ghosts, i have quite a load of papers now, so i said "why not, let's stop this slipping madness".
