Biden's said he will give Obama whatever advice he thinks is necessary, I'd choose that over Palin doing whatever the hell she plans to do (has she even said? I don't think so)

Yeah, she did say. In the debate, the moderator asked the question to the both of them. Biden's statements are what you refer to, Palin also answered it. I don't feel like looking it up precisely (should be easy to find if you're curious, or worst case scenario, I can pull it out some time tomorrow or so), but it was something to the effect of "leading through areas where I have strengths" or some pumpernickel. Basically boils down to "do pumpernickel I have skills in that McCain doesn't".

And no, the president's role is signing or vetoing bills does not require knowledge of law 8)
