IIRC from what I've heard, the duped items have the same ID as the item they were duped from.
I don't really pay attention to this stuff, so I could be wrong.

yes, but just as a player, how can you seriously tell what items are duped and what aren't? that was more or less what i was trying to say.

I posted a situation similar to this in Phantasy star, so I already solved this question.
