He didn't do much before then and already looked like a lame duck president. Not a single member of congress after September 11th even read the Patriot Act. Of course his approval rating went down after the war in Iraq because it was an unjustified war to start with for the purpose of profiteering."Profiteering"? I think you mean American Imperialism.
Oh and by the way: technically speaking, Palin is more qualified to be president than Obama. Seriously. Obama has got a few years on Palin, but being in the Senate is nothing like being president... at least Governor is the same sort of job as president, although on a smaller scale.
And the reason why Obama is taken so seriously isn't because he's Black and people want to pull the reverse racism out. "See? A Black man CAN be president!" No. It's because he's charismatic and good at making speeches. Personally, I don't think charisma and speaking ability are all that important to the actual job he'd be doing.
And I see some people spazzing over Palin's staunch anti-abortion ideals. Both Palin and Biden stated clearly that they intended to continue on the head of the ticket's policies. In other words, she has stated that her personal feelings on the matter won't cause her to divert away from doing things the way McCain would, and unless I'm mistaken, McCain's stance on the issue is standard fare for a Republican (that is to say, he's not a wackjob extremists like Palin herself is).

That's how socialism works, but that's not how the real world works.
@Stereo regarding price gauging "because" of privatized health care: this is where regulations come in. The free market is only a bad thing if it is allowed to be.
@0mgP1r4tes: Yes, yes, we all know the economic situation is the Democrats fault moreso than Republicans (U MSUT LOAN TO EVERYONE EVEN IF THEY CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY BACK!), but even so, there were so many points during which EITHER of them could have stepped in and stopped this pumpernickel, even like 2 years ago before this subprime bullpumpernickel even made headlines.
ps and i dont mean this to be taken seriously, but am i the only one that thinks "Obama-Biden" is dangerously close to "Osama bin Laden"? Change the 's' to an 'b', and cut out the 'n' from "bin" and the "La" from "Laden".
pps in all honesty I'm either not going to vote at all or I'm gonna go Libertarian down the board 8)
