Im not saying that I dont believe it should happen, I just believe the US should have as little government as possible when it comes to private business sectors. In a perfect world where we could have free health care and no tax increases, Id be all for it, but thats just not how it works


Then where does it end? A girl doesnt want to have to pay for PLan B, so she lies and says she was raped for a free rape kit. A man is leaving his house on a jog but his spouse doesnt see him and hits him with a truck. He claims it was a hit and run, so he gets free medical care right?

If you let one person get something free because its out of their control, its fairly simple for people to lie and say what happened to them was not under their control, and thus should be free

Knowing many people who work at hospitals, I can tell you that the current system of corporately owned hospitals does not work. The people who run the hospital are not the slightest bit concerned in the well being of their patients. They are solely concerned with making profits. Even if the doctors or nurses want to help someone, if it's going to cost the hospital extra they won't be allowed to do so. They constantly fire the support staff (Social workers, CNAs, etc.) and force the nurses to take on those jobs, without ever increasing their pay.

as for rape kits, anyone who gets one is going to have to file a police report. Filing a false police report is a crime. People aren't going to do that just to avoid the cost of one measly pill.

you need to think of the big picture. Is the cost of one measly little rape kit worth increasing the suffering of a victim? Is the cost of that man's medical bills worth the cost of not having him working in the economy? There will ALWAYS be people around to abuse the system, but you must ask yourself if the lost money over these few abuses are worthy of the cost of people dying because you deny them treatment. In my opinion, if this program even saves one person legitimately it is worth the cost, however you clearly do not value human life at all so that argument doesn't hold any weight for you.
