Do you know how much price gouging goes on because of privatized healthcare in the US? Americans pay more for less care than in any other first world country. Does it really matter if it comes off as tax or directly out of your income as employer benefits? Either way you're paying it, and with public health care it is cheaper and available to more people.
Giving health to someone who's in it for the money is a bad idea. Cutting costs and boosting profit margins does not improve the quality of care, and for something as essential as health, people have no choice but to pay the price or die.
