When they put together "a new way to imagine the game" and the requirement that you know other people who play in your area, I'm thinking they're trying to make a maple D&D-style thing. That is, play Maplestory offline. Note that they're not saying all the people in your area who maple need to come to this day. Just one, to learn the game, and presumably be the "DM" for their friends.

Just my wild speculation, am thousands of miles from being able to learn first-hand what it's about.
