I keep hearing how critical rates don't mean sh'it anymore because criticals are multiplicative now. I don't get that...
Without Dragon Strike, I can't hit 100k+ damage with Dragon Strike (this is excluding Counter Attack, of course), but with criticals, 100k+ damage is pretty common to see.
Now... the higher critical rate I have, the higher chance I have to see 100k+ damage with Dragon Strike. Wouldn't that improve my damage a LOT?
If I need to put it in a bossing situation, it's the same thing with Demolition. The higher critical rate I have, the higher chance I have of seeing 100k damage per hit with Demolition. Wouldn't this improve my overall DPS a lot?
I ask this because every time I or someone else brings up "higher critical rates" in any conversation, I only see "critical rates don't mean sh'it" as a reply. So someone, please explain to me why higher critical rates don't mean anything anymore, because I'm very intrigued as to why that is so.
