I'm certain I messed up...
#5
Back when I first had to choose my major for higher education, I was left at a three-way between:
a/ something I excelled at, and
b/ something I'd always wanted to do, but sucked at

Naturally, due to family pressure, I chose the easy way. I mean, I'll come out with a job and I'll have it easy, what's not to like?
Going through those days was horrible. Commuting to school was one big discouraging factor. It was almost a huge deal that I put up with, but for what? Nothing.

Fortunately I had a chance to change everything, and I started doing what I liked (including Math) and I've been pretty okay at it. Not excellent where excellence is needed like many of our Southperrian peers, but I've been doing okay and I hope I'll be able to keep it this way.

To be fair, it takes a rather long time for people to realize their incompatibility with something, which means it should take an equally long time to realize whether or not you click with another thing. The positives you've heard about changing majors most likely hasn't lasted long. When studying gets ugly, things might change just like it did.
So consider it carefully. If you don't get on a bus, you'll get nowhere; yet if you chase two bunnies, you get none.
