I'm certain I messed up...
#1
I've been thinking too much about this lately. I'm studying something I don't like. College is fun, classes are interesting but it's not my thing. I'm not enjoying it at all. I chose to study psychology for stupid reasons and many things contributed to me sticking with that decition for almost 1 year.

Before actually starting with psychology I was just having french lessons(2hours a day) and nothing else. I had a lot of family and friends pressure on me and I felt like I needed to do something. Psychology came as an option and I decided to send applications for that... sadly, I did it in most part to prove myself that I'd be admited at any university. I got rejected in the university I wanted to study the most, but they offered to add me to a "pre-psychology program" for 6months. I accepted to join, it was almost the same thing as the actual career except we saw less classes and we would still get credits from them once we joined the actual career. I did great in one class and ok in the rest and had two options: start psychology career or move to something else. I wasn't sure but I chose to stay... I think my actual thoughts back then were "I already spent 6months in this, I did ok, I have 9 credits already for this career..."
My other option was "modern languages"... I learned english at school, I enjoyed it and I still enjoy writting/talking in english whenever I can. I know my english is not great but I consider it decent... although results on college's admition english test were awesome (They do this test to everyone that studies there and require people to have atleast level B1? to graduate. I doubt they are reliable.)
Also, french: I did great at learning it, I enjoyed lessons, I was good at it, I just understood everything easily. Not to mention it's just great and fun to know another language that allows you to talk with other people, understand books, websites and whatnot.
I already know a bit of three different languages and I want more, I enjoy it, I like it, I'm good at it. With psychology I don't see myself in any working area (clinical, social, organizational, others), with "modern languages" I see myself as a simultaneous translator, or even as a teacher.

The thing is (sorry for writting that bunch of pomegranate but I wanted to make sure you understand my situation), my family is not rich, I feel like I'm already old and I'd be wasting time but mostly I don't know if and how I should say this to my mom. I got until may 30 to decide and send in an application, but before doing anything I must talk with my mom and I'm scared. I'm certain I messed up and I'm 100% sure I want to study "modern languages" but I don't know how mom will react... I've already think a lot about this and I'm sure I gotta do this soon but I don't know how to start this conversation, or if I should talk with someone else first... I just don't know...

Any advices on what to do?
Anyone had a similiar experience and would like to tell me how everything went?
