Chain Lightning now stuns. If you can hit the monster with at least one out of the four hits, you can stun the monster, given the 90% stun rate. This will at least disable the monster until you can hit again. If you had a single-hit skill that had a stun rate, you'd miss and have the monster barge at you at top speed.
IN 4th job is when you get CL, you only train on bosses so stuns don't matter.
AND even in EARLY 4th job where you don't boss 24/7, you got seal and freeze

You launch the 1 hit CL, you Miss, everyone else finishes it. no extra exp.
You launch this version of CL, Miss one hit, still land the other 3, then gets finished off by everyone else: you just managed to squeeze in a little bit more claim to the exp in this scenario.
Also, not getting knocked off of a platform because you were able to push a monster out of it's attack range can indirectly support your overall DPS too, in many cases. I kinda get the point here.
And learn to tele cast to not fall off a plat, if you fall you fail at control and should quit.
