Just gonna list the first Starter I chose in each game group/generation because I've used all three in every one except D/P/P (never played Pearl; never started with Piplup). Still have yet to play HG/SS... I really need to go back and do one of them. Currently working on White. I don't know if I'll do Black, though I do have it. Completed at least one full playthrough of all other versions.
R/B/Y: Charmander
G/S/C: Cyndaquil
R/S/E: Torchic
FR/LG: Charmander (again)
D/P/P: Chimchar
HG/SS: Haven't played yet!
B/W: Snivy
I always used to prefer the Fire Starter, for sure, but that changed over time. I like the Grass type most now and just about every Grass Starter is my favorite (except Meganium). In Platinum, when I ran with Turtwig over Chimchar, I found it vastly superior. I hate monkeys. And I hate pigs! Fire Starters you have become the weakest link!
