TEs are lovely. As a heads up though, don't spend more than 100$ on one unless you really want one like right now. Almost every time there's a major tournament or something, Madcatz will have a sale where they're 99.99$. Also, most tournies are played on PS3 as a heads up.

With a regular controller vs a dedicated fighting gamepad, it's really just all preference. The PS3 dualshock is actually considered to be one of the best controllers to use for fighting games outside of sticks. I wouldn't get a dedicated fighting game pad unless you play on Xbox.
