It's only "Zolo" in english because the translators were pomegranatescared of being sued for having a sword fighter named anything similar to "Zorro". Theres a reason why all the english thats in the japanese versions spells it "Zoro"
In his defense, he's right about the Korean though. There is no R sound in Korean, only L. So his Maplestory NL explanation works, but like you said it doesn't cross over to manga since that's Japanese.
