Doubtful. It wasn't something caused by hardware failure, I just unknowingly messed something up when swapping cables. And if it's about the operating system, it still turns on fine in safe mode, so it's far from screwed over. I have other methods of fixing the problem to try if the XP disk doesn't fix it, but most likely it'll do the trick. I don't give up on computer related issues. Unless something is obviously dead (there are ways to check), it can most likely be fixed.
