Benefits of going to college:
- Degree (consequently, higher paying job)
- Knowledge (although much of it can be gained outside of university, with some determination)
- Social interaction (because the thought of only interacting with coworkers and former high school classmates depresses me)
- Connections
Costs of going to college:
- Tuition and fees (so happens my parents can cover it for now, but financial aid would've helped otherwise)
- Four years of wages
- Four years of work experience (although I do intend to pursue research opportunities during my college years, or something)
The price is steep but the exposure to all different kinds of people and ideas is essentially life as I know it and worth anything to me, even beyond the academic gains and the associated slip of paper.
