trying to explain it in real life example:
given an empty box of nothing but bacteria with population of 1, it double its population every 1 hour;
so 5 hours later it would be 2^5 = 32
10 hours later will be 2^10 = 1024
what happen at hour 0? it won't be 0 bacteria, with 0 bacteria there will be nothing going on
