I cant find any articles about police saying it... so it looks like my memory failed me in this case.

And p.s. the protestors aren't dependent on government aid. I have no idea where you came up with that idea; I'd like to see your source. We're dependent upon collectively bargaining for the wages we have, which aren't enough to become "upper class" like many paint us to be. We're normal, hard-working, middle-lower class residents who simply want to maintain the lifestyle we have and not suffer economic misfortunes that make it difficult to live. That's what this whole issue is about. No one's asking for wage raises that can purchase the luxuries. Please tell me how many Wisconsin farmers, teachers, and snow plow drivers have yachts on Lake Michigan - the answer is 0.

Maybe I should rephrase that, as aid was a bad term to use. I mostly was refering to the benefits state workers get that are paid for by the state and that people where a little too dependent on the states money. The only problem with that is obviously what we are witnessing now, the fact that you've become dependent on someone that wishes to rob you of those benefits and that he is technically accountable to no one (except maybe during elections).

There is also the issue of the budget, but I doubt the government worker wages are a significant portion.
