The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help

It's not like the money they are giving away during those 6 days is going to amount to anything compared with what they'll be MAKING during those 6 days.

We're talking about PR and money here, both of which are serious business. I can't speak for anyone else but I really do admire Nexon for their money-milking abilities strategies, from a pure business standpoint. They know their community's needs and wants, and more than occasionally have they scratched where it actually did itch. Vicious Hammers, Unlocking discount sales with milestone purchase, Miracle Cubes, Pam's Song, whatchamacall that Box of Wonders, so on and so forth.

Sure, it's great that in the end, everyone is happy and probably calling them out on this (whether they had intently planned it or not) is going to do more harm than good. And that's probably worth us staying silent about this whole fiasco of morality, because you can't feed on being moral. It still boils down to the way they did this that pisses me off; Not only are they buying the public image (which is arguably acceptable in this period of crisis), they are also managing to buy it with money from OUT of their pockets.

Again, why not 30% of their whole proceeds figures? Why not 50%? Why not 96% like they make it out to be? Why "everything but our golden-egg-laying goose"?

A moral cause does not completely justify any means, let alone a not so moral one.




I was considering licking their boots in praise before I saw the SAVE FOR OUR PRECIOUS GAME CATEGORY ITEMS. They were doing something nice for once, but then blew it.
Look, they wouldn't have any profits at all to donate SOME of that had they not chosen to do so. This is not like "Hey we make $300,000 on average every month so we're going to donate part of it, you cool?", this is "Hey people, we're going to donate a part of whatever you pay us (so feel free to pay us a lot haha)". Everything would've been dandy and fine if they cut the shady fine print bullpomegranate. Maple players are too dumb for that.

Why the hell would any company let alone any people give away their "golden egg laying goose"? Short answer:They won't. You can't just give money away and block off all other source of income. Especially with a company like nexon.
