I really don't think your comparisons are fair... how did you decide that in the time it takes A to solo 2, they'll only kill 3 total? Someone's not doing full DPS if that's the case.
There is no difference in exp gains for any player between
A kills 2 monsters solo
B, C each kill 1 monster solo
A kills 2 monsters solo
B, C work together to kill 2 monsters
A, B, C work together to kill 4 monsters
These 3 options will give the same exp to everyone involved, and take the same amount of attacking time. The only question is how efficiently they're using the map - less time between killing 1 monster and starting to attack the next is better.
