The Disaster in Japan, How We Can All Help

Actually it WOULD be better if they didn't give out ANY extra dollar aside from the 1.2 million. They may be donating 1.2m for public image purposes, but then they'll make twice or more that amount through playerbase's blindness.

There are 25 category tabs under which various cash items are listed. Nexon is only keeping money spent on ONE single tab. Why? If they simply want to share their earnings with the people in need, which is a normal thing to do, wouldn't it make more sense to donate, say, 50% of their earning? 30%? 10%? 90%? I don't know, you pick. It would also make more sense to outside viewers as well, for Japan to receive half of Nexon America's generated earnings in a particular period of time instead of money generated through purchases in all BUT one item category in a real-cash game store.

But no, we're having the money spent on 24 specific Cashshop categories go to Japan. Why? Because it's a big number. 24/25 = 96% of Nexon's earnings is expected to go to Japan. Holy fucking crap.
In reality, we don't even need to THINK to name 5 best sellers off the top of our heads. In fucking fact, go to the CashShop and have a very good look for yourself. Now then, that 96% suddenly doesn't look so impressive anymore.
That's ONE shadiness from Nexon's side.

The second, and possibly the most disgusting thing Nexon has done up to date, in my opinion, is that Best-sellers tend to, you know, continue to sell well. In reality, many many many businesses in the US (and elsewhere, but I'm speaking from experience) get their customers hooked up through fine prints nobody ever reads. Cubes, 2x EXP cards (which are now fortunately removed), 2x Drop card (which have gained popularity lately due to certain quests), Scissor of Karma, Vicious Hammers are all sizzling hot items, to add, much much much much hotter than any other item that Nexon is giving away to Japan.

So in the end, what happens? Everybody is happy. Japan is happy with 1.2m + the little amount of money anyone actually spends on non-GameCategory items, the players are happy to have got what they have always wanted PLUS the awesomeness of altruism, or pseudo-altruism, Nexon is happy to swim in their new-built 104th swimming pool of gold. Only the few people with bullshit high moral get pissed off by this farce.
