Temporarily unblocking you to address this ridiculous post.
The outrage has nothing to do with what they are or are not selling, it's that they haven't done a good enough job specifying what isn't included and are leading people to believe that buying cubes en mass will be helping Japan in some way which simply isn't true. They completely neglected to mention it in this post and in the other one it's not entirely clear what they're talking about (see: Netto not understanding on page 1. He's not stupid and I'm sure he's not the only person who isn't going to get it.)
Being under the belief that you'll be helping will inspire people to buy NX and Nexon knows that. They also know that not everyone is going to read or understand that cubes aren't included. They're attempting to profit off of this which overshadows any good they're doing.
They should have just donated 5% of all proceeds for the next week, then they wouldn't open themselves up to such scrutiny.
Trust Wrote:Lol not surprising that it would come down to someone nitpicking about nexon's "greed" on the situation. Not only did they donate 1.2million as it is, but giving 100% of the profit of a good chunk of what they make their money from. Instead of looking at it negatively from the outside, look at it from a business standpoint, nexon is NOT a charity, it is a company, they don't even have to donate anything at all. Yet they do, and people will complain that they aren't donating enough of their revenue?
I applaud the fact that nexon is donating anything of their revenue. How many thousands of people spend tons of NX on things other than cube/gach/whatever is in the game tab. You guys act as if nexon is being greedy by still being a company and not turning 100% into a charity. A lot of business donate a portion of their proceeds to charity for things like this, are you mad at them for not giving all their profits?
It's sad that something done for some good still gets so much flack from people who just need to find a reason to bring negativity to a positive cause.
I am really happy that they donated $1.2m and think they did something great there, but you can't let someone doing something good blind you to the bad. It doesn't matter if they're a business or not; making money off an attempted fundraiser is pretty awful, and that's what they're doing.
If you would actually read what I'm saying then you'd see that your interpretation is so very, very wrong. I don't think they're not doing enough, I think the way they're going about it is wrong. There's a certain sneakiness involved in this deal and that's very upsetting.
