However, I think I might get Wind Piercing on my BM (currently 14x) after Chaos, where it gets a major buff.

Pre-Chaos Soul Driver is OP as hell even past 4th job.
Post-Chaos Soul Driver gets nerfed by 70%, which makes it 99% obsolete in 4th job.
