Lol at the righteous people calling others ignorant without knowing the circumstances of others.
Seems like prolonged exposure to the light of righteousness can cause blindness.
I don't know about the states, but where I live snitching about this kind of stuff will only make things worse. More so if you go to a public school (as I did) Why? Because odds are the group of bullies live around your neighborhood, so even if they do get suspended, you will still meet them sooner or later. Back then the only way to deal with this was either to become the clown of the class or to stand up for yourself. I chose the second one (I was in third grade back then), got a broken nose and my mom whoop my ass for getting into a fight (yeah...), but never again was I bullied.
What about today? Same pomegranate. My cousin's kid is on 5th grade and he's on his third school because of bullies. The kid so far haven't been able to stand up to himself (he's the very definition of a wimp), and his mother spends most of her time trying to protect her kid at school (Good thing she doesn't work).
What happened to the bullies of the schools? Suspensions everywhere. What did that solve? Nothing, because the kid still gets harassed outside of the school. So he can't even go out and play around his own neighborhood.
And because the bullies are kids, the police does not make a big deal out of it (plus, what can they do, sue them because they spend most of their time playing out in the street?).
TL;DR?
Teach your kid to defend himself, to have some pride and not allow himself to get trampled by the whims of others. This is not even about violence nor winning or losing a fight, it's about the development of fortitude and character.
