That's funny, because when I was being bullied as a child, the authorities didn't do squat. In fact, my sixth grade teacher tried to justify my getting beat up by a group of many children. My parents ended up calling their parents after hearing about it from my sister, and guess what? Their parents did absolutely nothing.
I'm not saying that telling people is a wrong course of action, but expecting other people (including "authorities") to solve your problems just doesn't work.
