Why people get super-excited over Pokemon Black and White?

Has anyone tried playing a handheld without a backlight recently? Literally have to position yourself directly under the sun in order to see anything on it.

i still play my original pokemon pinball, one of the best pokemon spinoffs ever. red has a dead battery ;_;
