I'm also certain that Sarah said that if you traded you dog once, it becomes invalidated and can't be used to unlock the event o.o In other wordst, the dogs had to be sent from 4th gen to 5th gen to activate the event/

If they already activated the event. If they haven't, then you can still use it. Same with Celebi.

Edit: I think I may have misunderstood. If you trade off of wifi, from one 4th gen game to another 4th gen game, then it's fine. I'm not sure, if it works if you trade from 5th to 5th.
