Sarah Wrote:Good idea. Teenagers should definitely take advice from other teenagers.

Also, psychiatrists can prescribe drugs. Friends cannot.

Stress and a certain level depression are normal things people of all ages go through. Depression, particularly, may or may not get worse as people enter college, partially due to exams and classes but mostly due to social interaction (or lack of - See: Erik Erikson). If it's just things on your mind, you can just dump them on your friend. Of course, use your judgement on who you ought to talk to and find someone who knows how to listen and/or gives good advice. Because obviously, those "teenage friends" lack credentials and credibility, it's more important to befriend a good listener than an advice-giver or take their advice with a grain of salt. That was mostly responding to your "better than keeping stuff bottled up" comment.

If you're severely suffering from depression or stress, then sure by all means, seek professional help. Read up on depression and see how severe is severe: bodily aches, lack of motivation, lack of interests, etc.

It's just I don't want to say something to hurt them because I overally think things I guess. I know it would save alot of money, but aside from my actual close friends being the issue theres the girls that think because I'm gay I care more and therefore can sit on a phone for three hours and listen to them rant about the party the night before and how she regrets having sex while I sat home on a date with DnF.

Everybody overly thinks things with it comes to serious relationships. If your problems involves the one person (or people) who you can talk to, it's best that you actually talk to them about it. Chances are, unless you aim to hurt them, they aren't going to be hurt (unless you're breaking up with someone in which case, there's bound to be some hurt). It's not good when you're hiding things from your friends or lover. That's how bonding works and why you can say "my best friend knows everything about me". If it's your lover, that gets a little risky so yes, watch what you say and how you say it.

As for the girl, this isn't an elemental schoolyard bully problem so you're free to talk to the girl that you don't like being her Angry Dome. If she hates you for being straight up, standing up for yourself and not liking being her peach, then she's not a good friend.
