Ignoring someone
#5
OB3LISK Wrote:Eh. You can't be a plantain to people...It looks bad and can affect what people think about you. So you can't completely ignore/be rude to someone.

Generally what I do when I'm in conversations I don't like is that I let the other person lead in talking, and I agree/ask a specific question about something they said so it looks like I'm paying attention.

Person: So I my bio class is killing me.
Me: Yeah?
Person: The teacher is giving no homework, the whole grade comes from tests alone.
Me: Are they hard?
Person: *continues on*

That is because you don't care. I'm not asking how to lead the conversations, I know how to do small talks. I wanted to know HOW to adopt that attitude, which in turn brings about the meaningless responses automatically.
read: How do I go about keeping my mind constantly reminded that I need to adopt the "yeah yeah, okay cool, now go away" attitude.

Do I try and shock my brain with an alarm screaming THIS PERSON IS NOT WORTH TALKING TO every time I see their face? Should I try to familiarize myself with small talks by applying it to everyone?
What do I need to do to go from:
- point A: paying attention to what anyone says, and take it seriously; to
- point B: doing small talks with any lucky chosen person
