I had had some hope for them at one point. I knew that the code itself was somewhat of a patchwork job so there could actually have been some difficulty in fixing all the bugs throughout the game, but...
Now it seems to me that they either don't believe that the community will actually help them at all, so they don't bother investing much time into the open testing; or their internal QA is just as bad. I suppose my image of QA is a bit different since my old office was a big company that was primarily into console releases that rarely had updates, so they called in people only when then needed them. But there were still hundreds of people available to be on call for the job if need be. Yeah, the OLS department was somewhat smaller (GMs in layman's terms), and there wasn't a 24/7 cycle for it, but there were people specifically assigned for it. Now all I can imagine is that they have less than 20 internal QA testers per title and 3 or so coders per title. Any which way I look at it, the QA department seems understaffed for the schedule the higher ups want to push. Granted, this is all conjecture from what's been presented.
