I know when I was in high school we used to joke around and ''hang out'' with teachers pretty often, but then again most of the teachers were relatively young. From what I've seen teachers who are friendlier and ''cooler'' with their students tend to have more respect, and that respect leads to students following orders/instructions more often, having more fun -while- learning more often, etc.[/COLOR]
I would totally agree with you. Being friends with your teachers should be ok but...

The best thing one can do is have a good professional relationship with them until they're no longer grading you. After that you're pretty much free to do anything. I like to talk and drink coffe/smoke with some of the last semester teachers. I have friends that go out with them to bars and stuff.
