So its not as simple as 'just turning it off.'
And agreed with above. Nexon can't catch everything when servers go online.

The problem isn't that there are still bugs in the game after it is opened. They can't test everything, and bugs are sneaky.

The problem is that they all go home once the game is up. Whoever is left minding the store is either unable or not required to have any contact at all with the players. So if the players discover a bug, which is quite likely, there is no way to bring it to Nexon's attention. Most of the time it doesn't matter, they aren't going to do anything about it in a timeframe in which a few hours make a difference. But when it's as serious as this... Take a look at their own forums, there are about four hours there of people screaming and begging "take the servers down NAO!", but no-one ever saw that. I know people logged tickets about this for at least as long, but again, they got put in the queue, unseen.

That is what must change. The nightshift person needs to not just watch that channels aren't crashing, but also watch their forums, incoming ticket titles, maybe Tweets directed @MapleStory or comments on their FB page (I must admit I don't use either, so I don't know whether anyone tried to get their attention that way, but it's likely). Not saying browse fansites, not saying go in-game and read smegas and other conversations. Not saying to do anything about any specific ticket or forum question. Nothing too taxing. Just keep an eye out on the most basic player-Nexon communication channels, to make sure there isn't anything big going on.
