Tespia - Season 2 Round 3

Log what? I'm more than entitled to be angry with nexon for choosing a method that does not benefit me, which would in turn benefit them.

I've already said that it doesn't matter because this happened FOUR MONTHS AGO. Please refrain from perpetuating an argument that you yourself spurred which has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

I meant log IN, sorry. Typo. And boy have you got an ego. It doesn't matter when it happened though, your anger is misdirected and you're the one who was lashing out at them for not picking you even though it was ENTIRELY your fault. The world doesn't bend to your whim. As I said earlier, being a current player is a foreseeable credential.

You've got a ton of unrealistic expectations about how Tespia participants should be chosen.

Doesn't have much to do with your OVERALL point, but it's a focused response to one part of your response. Specifically towards the part that implied that they did NOTHING. Which they did not.

At no point did I ever suggest they did nothing. I stated that they didn't change TESPIA at all during the testing period, which prevented testers from doing their job properly.

1) Because we don't know all of them effectively means we can assume there weren't any others. We know what they've told us, and that's all that matters to the argument that their credentials were lacking.
2) Why do we need it? We know there is one, and we know it was significant because otherwise Nexon would not continue to launch tespia again and again. If tespia was shut down so long ago due to a lack of bug records, then we can say tespia is continued because of the opposite.
3) Nexon holds up their end to the best of their ability and since we know tespia only proves to improve their ability to fix stuff...then Nexon is doing fine.

I don't even know where to start with this.

1. Assuming what the credentials are will only lead to faulty conclusions. There were absolutely others that they didn't tell us about, be it picking specific community members or just using a random number generator. Since you don't know what those credentials were, you can't fault their method of choosing testers.

2. How can you claim the testers didn't do their job properly without a record of what bugs they reported? Also for some reason you suddenly went the opposite direction with this and instead of blaming the testers you're saying they must be doing an adequate job for tespia to stay alive, which is probably true but it doesn't help YOUR point, it helps mine.

3. Nexon didn't hold up their end at all. This is ridiculous and I'll explain why within the address to your next paragraph which is absolutely preposterous.

A producer for Nexon clearly placed the blame on the testers for why tespia was taken down. Obviously blaming the testers is something we can do, and because we can blame the testers we can blame the cause for testers sucking d'ick. The cause being the method for choosing testers. You cannot possibly deny that improved credentials means improved tester base, which improves the effectiveness of tespia overall.

A producer for Nexon said something that redirected any blame from them and you're taking it at face value? Have you learned nothing from the last two years? Nexon is not accountable for their actions and I'm sure they're either unaware or unwilling to admit that the way they run Tespia isn't anywhere close to effective, thus they pass the blame to the testers.

Here's how Tespia fails because of Nexon. They open up a test server and let players run free for 3 - 10 days and report whatever bugs they find and then be on their merry way.

What's wrong with that? Well how about that there's no live server data so players can't test compatibility issues, character issues, etc. There's a very limited amount of time and they expect testers to play as normal while all starting from the same point, which severely limits the amount of ground they can cover. And finally, they take whatever data they get from testers and possibly fix some issues while leaving others before applying it to the live patch, expecting nothing will go wrong.

If they were holding up their end they would provide a stable environment (GMS big bang tespia was nearly unplayable for approximately 5 days iirc due to crashing bugs. Remember Ariant too?) they would address bugs on the run, issuing a new tespia patch at least every other day if not EVERY DAY or even multiple times a day, given the severity of an issue and finally, they'd bring in live server data to test against the new content. They overlook important things like the effects of putting new data into an existing environment, and that can be changed by allowing people to bring their pomegranate over like they did for the visitor one.

But all of these practices AND MORE must take place during every Tespia session or else it will always be doomed to failure, regardless of who the testers are. This is why it's Nexon's fault, not the testers.

This is my last post because you've got a habit of not absorbing what you don't want to hear and I'm not going to continue arguing this. My point is made.
