[Draft] Guide for Basic and Advanced Carnival Pqing

I disagree a lot with your assessment of pages in CPQ.

Before level 50, you have enough SP as a warrior to max Mastery, get 6 Booster, and have ~30 SP to play with.

A page will NOT get Threaten. That is dumb. A page will max Final Attack. Now, FA is very bad at lower skill levels, wasting time. However, when maxed, it's a DPS beast, especially on single targets. A smart page will save up SP until they have ~21, then put them all on FA at once, and proceed to max it. By level 50, they'll have 19 Mastery, 6-12 Booster, 30 Final Attack, 0-3 Threaten (3 Threaten is a prereq for Power Guard), and 0-3 Power Guard. PG is a non-factor, because no one is going to have more than 3 points in it at level 50.. and it lasts 9 seconds with 13% damage reduction at level 3. :f6:

On the other hand, the popular fighter build is to max Rage first, and that's what you seem to be recommending. So few fighters know how silly it is to have Rage first. Yes, you can't use attack pots in CPQ. But you can use them before you enter the PQ, in Spiegelmann's Office. You can use Takoyaki if you want it to last almost the whole PQ, or a Warrior Elixir if you just want to jump out to the advantage quickly, or a Warrior Pill if you're cheap. Either way, except for with the Warrior Pill, the page isn't at much of a disadvantage as long as his or her pot finger is quick.

So Rage does what, increase your party members' attack? If you're funded, you're probably be going to CPQ with people much less strong with you, or else no one will challenge your party (because they know they can't win, lol).

FA, on the other hand, is awesome, especially Rombotting. Power Strike will be usually used with the Rombots, because they're large and tend to wander away from each other. They require lots of hits to kill, so FA activating isn't a problem.

My page is dexless, sword, funded with less than 30 mil, and uses a 76/9 Soul Singer with no attack shield... which, in the area of funded CPQ mules in Bera, is minimal. I can count on one hand the number of times I have lost to a Rage fighter, even one much more funded than me, and the ones I did lose to had much better parties. (I've only lost to a fellow page once, and that's the guy who scrolled my sword, so I'm sure he has a better one. Rolleyes)

Short answer: Pages are not made of suck if they aren't idiots. If CPQ's max level was around 55 so that Fighters could have both Rage and max FA, then I might agree with you, but that is not so.

However, you're free to leave what you said in your guide. I like being underestimated. Wink

Other issues:
  • The pictures of the icons that appear above the monsters for different protectors don't need to be spoilered. They're so small that spoilering adds length and complexity. o.O If you really want to spoiler, you could spoiler the whole section, and just have the text above each image normally (inside the spoiler).

  • Try naming your spoilers.

  • The class section could use some more formatting, bolds/font size or something to make it easier to scroll to a certain class.

  • Pictures of the pots/buffs/curses would be really helpful. I mean these:
     Spoiler
I know that when I was noob at CPQ, everyone told me WHAT buffs/curses existed, but not what they looked like, so I had to learn by trial and error picking them up. Frown
  • Try using more numbered and bulleted lists to make the organization clearer.

Pretty good guide. It's very thorough. It's always better to have simple formatting and editing than trying to add content later, and you have the content down well. =) It's just improving readability now.

Oh, relating to content, though: I suggest you add strategies for what to do if you are a class, not just if you are facing a class. Or at least make them into a separate section. You have some of this in the classes section, but there's more. For example, if you're a mid-level hunter, take over 3 platforms of Robos in fields 5-6. (i.e. Stand on one platform, and kill the Robo on that, plus the ones on each side.) You aren't the biggest CP gainer, but you'll be the most consistent. Even if the opponent gets a lot of Master Chronos spawn in, as long as you can find a platform that doesn't spawn one, you can snipe them away with ease.

You already said what I would say for strong/funded warriors, which is Rombotting. (Or trying to get the other team to summon on you in rooms 3-4.)
