Little gameplay lesson, day 1 is always very little chance to lynch a mafia. However, having people vote is always good in order to get a read on them.
If you discuss nothing on day 1 it's simply a day wasted and advantage for mafia. Even lynching a townie is better than not lynching or not voting.
