Either way, cash trade would compliment the MTS rather than hurting it. I can actually imagine cash trade increasing nexon's profits since people out there sell NX anyway, this would just give them a 'legal' avenue to do that and more incentive.
It would be pretty awesome to have the final transaction type though. Items for mesos, items for NX, and NX for mesos.
