I used to die a lot less due to the obvious invincibility frames, but pre-BB there was a lot more things that could easily OHKO me even with 10k base. Now that can't really happen however the increased frequency of damage took a lot to get used to. I don't know how much defense has to do with it so much as adjusted monster stats. I think i can survive a lot more now after getting used to things, but i'll have to see how van leon fights to really test survivability.
